Christoph Oberli and Christina MacLeod proudly took over the reins of the legacy brand, Baudelaire on July 31, 2020. Chris and Christina brought with them more than 30 years of global expertise in the hospitality, luxury marketing, and high-energy start-ups industries. Frequent world travelers, Chris and Christina hope to explore far and wide for new artisans, eager to share their traditions and craft with the Baudelaire family. Diverse and passionate, this dynamic team is the perfect match for Baudelaire as it navigates new journeys, while honoring the perfected heritage of the last 30 years.

History of Baudelaire

The Baudelaire name was inspired by the poetry and appreciation for the finer things of 19th century French writer, Charles Baudelaire. The romantic phonetics of “Baudelaire” became the perfect namesake for the brand, while also conveying what we hope the brand encourages in the minds of our customers.

Passionate about bringing finer quality European bath products to American customers, Joe Marks founded Baudelaire in 1987. With a strong focus on luxurious, natural ingredients, and sophisticated fragrances, Marks traveled through Europe seeking local artisans that would meet the exceptional quality standards of the Baudelaire brand.
